in the preparation of engineering documents that have been prepared
in support of the practice of civil engineering roadway design.

through pre-final and final design, and extending into construction
plan implementation with assistance in conflict resolution involving
contract documents and specifications.
It is the intent of the staff of Red Pencil, Limited
to enhance the plan preparation capabilities of a design firm by
providing assistance through plan reviews that will improve communication
between in-house disciplines, between prime and sub-consultants and
between client and consultants. The client can determine whether
the comments provided will need to be addressed and whether
further in-house review is needed to discover or address other
anomalies.
The ultimate purpose is to reduce overall project
costs through a reduction in client review activities, the resolution
of design issues prior to a plan submittal, and avoidance of budget
over-runs during construction by a timely identification of issues
having a potential impact on scheduled activities.
